Fuse Pay Card scores 6.0/10 across 40 sources, unifying two independent research passes that agree on fees, custody architecture and support quality but diverge sharply on rewards. Built by Squads Labs on Squads Protocol v4 smart accounts, with Bridge as program manager and Lead Bank as issuer, it is a virtual Visa that spends USDC straight from a Solana smart account. Reception among users who get access is warm: the App Store aggregate sits near 4.5-4.6 from roughly 35 ratings, and reviewers consistently praise ACH deposits converting to USDC without on-ramp fees, instant Apple Pay provisioning, and a seedless 2-of-3 security model of Device Key, 2FA Key and Recovery Key that makes self-custody approachable. r/solana is warmest on the Paymaster gas abstraction that lets network fees be paid in USDC rather than SOL. Fees are the strongest column and both passes independently scored them 9. No issuance, monthly, top-up, transaction or FX charge is documented, gas is abstracted, and swaps route through Jupiter at zero fee; the deductions are the implicit spread in Visa FX rates and a residual bank fee near $1 on fiat off-ramps. The architecture supports the claims: capital stays on-chain until a just-in-time pull at authorisation, spending limits default to $2,000 daily and are contract-enforced, and a five-minute time lock sits between Card Account and Main Account as an anti-draining buffer. The central tension is custody. At the wallet layer the non-custodial claim holds, since Squads v4 is formally verified and public and the Main Account is sole signer over the Card Account. But the fiat leg is conventional banking. Lead Bank policy describes collecting Social Security numbers, full transaction history, precise location, IP and device detail, shared with affiliates for joint marketing; the card agreement mandates binding arbitration with a class-action and jury waiver; and fiat in transit during conversion is explicitly not FDIC insured. One App Store review titled 'Caution - Not Self Custody At-All' reports an account closed unilaterally with roughly $600 inaccessible after weeks of support runaround, and an X user reports repeated unanswered emails. The on-chain account cannot be frozen; the API connecting it to Visa can be, and that distinction is where marketing and experience come apart. Rewards resolve at 3 rather than the 8 one pass assigned. That pass credited the Solid Card and its up-to-2% cashback in FUSE tokens, which belongs to the unrelated Fuse Network at fuse.io rather than this product. The Solana card carries no cashback; yield exists in Fuse Earn as a separate feature, and referrals pay $5+$5. Evidence is also thin and should temper confidence: the product is recent and has been invite-gated, Trustpilot coverage is effectively nonexistent, YouTube search is dominated by the unrelated 2017-2018 'Fuze Card' gadget, the app remains iOS-only, and the card is unavailable in New York, Alaska and most of Europe and Asia.
