Its "Spend Order" feature — a user-defined liquidation priority across up to 100+ assets — is widely cited as its killer differentiator. Cashback of up to 1% (in fiat or BTC) is tiered by 30-day average asset balance, with the metal card requiring €50,000+. Fee structure is strong: zero FX markup, zero monthly/annual fees, free ATM withdrawals — though hidden spreads on crypto-to-fiat conversion and high network withdrawal fees for small amounts are recurring criticisms. KYC is fast for most users (< 30 mins for standard), but Source of Wealth checks trigger frustration among long-term users suddenly asked for extensive documentation. The app is praised for its minimal, responsive UI and Apple/Google Pay integration, but suffers lag on budget hardware and is criticized for being separate from the main Kraken exchange app. Support is the platform's most significant weakness — chat wait times of 6–14+ hours are widely reported, creating anxiety during account restrictions. Privacy involves behavioral tracking across third-party apps, a major trade-off from crypto's anonymous roots. US users remain locked out, representing a significant unmet demand.
