NearPay Card scores 4.5/10 across 55 community sources, and the headline finding is that the consumer card no longer exists. The brand name covers three unrelated entities: a Saudi B2B SoftPOS infrastructure provider that raised a $14M Series A led by Sanabil Investments, a defunct Swiss B2C crypto Visa card built by Kikimora Labs for the NEAR ecosystem, and a Nigerian virtual-dollar-card app called Nearpays. Only the second was ever a spending card, and it wound down in early 2023 after the NEAR-native USN stablecoin collapsed, migrating accounts to Cryptopay and pivoting to Münzen. Where evidence exists, it is unflattering. The card carried a EUR 5 issuance fee, EUR 1 monthly maintenance, EUR 2.50 domestic ATM withdrawals and fiat-to-crypto PSP conversion running 2 to 3.99% with a $5 minimum floor; modelled fee erosion reached 1.58% for normal use and 5.34% for international use, making small purchases uneconomic. There was no cashback, no staking rewards tied to spending and no perks of any kind, which is why reward utility bottoms out. Onboarding was automated and reasonably quick for UK and EEA residents but aggressively geofenced, rejecting New York and Texas outright and blocking ACH and wire in ten further US jurisdictions. Positives are thin and mostly historical: a waitlist that hit 18,000 users in under a week, 38 supported cryptocurrencies, and genuine praise on GitHub for COO Ivan Ilin communicating openly about fees and roadmap. Privacy protections were standard-regulated rather than exceptional, and support during the USN collapse and brand sunset amounted to asynchronous blog posts telling users to swap USN for USDC on decentralised exchanges, with no live crisis channel. Successor brand Münzen carries sparse but mixed-to-negative Trustpilot feedback centred on on-ramp delays and unanswered refund requests. There is no authentic consumer review corpus for an active NearPay card in 2024 to 2026, and anyone shopping for a crypto debit card should treat this listing as historical.
